This is a simple story of where boy meets girl

except this boy and this girl were personified nations

They met during the onset of a bloody World War

The boy fell for the girl

And when War reared its ugly head once more, with the help of his friend, the boy saved the girl.

There were ups, there were downs; silly times and bad times; lovely times and brownie times.

But eventually the girl fell for the boy

And well kids, the rest is history

And they lived happily ever after
